Biography
Flat Earth is a Finnish grunge-infused rock band formed in Helsinki in 2017 by a lineup of seasoned musicians with deep roots in the Finnish rock and metal scene. From the very beginning, the band carved out a unique sonic identity blending raw emotion, heavy atmospheres, and melodic sensibility.
The original lineup featured:
Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis) – Bass
Mikko “Linde” Lindström (HIM) – Guitar
Anthony Pikkarainen – Vocals
Gas Lipstick (ex-HIM) – Drums
In 2018, Flat Earth released their debut album, "None For One", to critical and fan acclaim, establishing them as a powerful new force on the Nordic rock scene. They followed it up with the sophomore album "High On Lies" in 2022, expanding their sound with deeper lyrical themes and layered production.
The band has also released several standout singles, including:
A live cover of Nirvana’s “School” (2019)
The hauntingly atmospheric "Into the Blue" (2022)
The dark and punchy "Cyberain" (2023), featuring Wille Granö on drums
After the departure of founding drummer Gas Lipstick, the band briefly brought in Wille Granö, before settling on Mikko Herranen as their current drummer. Herranen has not only taken over the drum duties but also contributes backing vocals and production expertise, helping to shape the band’s evolving sound.
Flat Earth’s music has resonated globally, earning over 900,000 streams on Spotify and growing steadily toward the million mark. Their dedicated fanbase continues to expand, drawn by the band's honest energy and explosive live performances.
The wait is nearly over: on June 6th, 2025, Flat Earth returns with the long-awaited new single, “Holy” – a track that promises to deliver the full power and emotion that fans have come to expect.
